Substitute Opportunities & Recruitment

Thank you for your interest in serving as a classroom substitute in Central Ohio.

The Educational Service Center of Central Ohio recruits, processes and coordinates the placement of substitute teachers for the Big Walnut, Buckeye Valley, Canal Winchester, Fairbanks, Groveport Madison, Hamilton, New Albany•Plain or Olentangy local school districts and Gahanna-Jefferson Public Schools. The ESC also hires substitute teachers, teacher assistants, and sign language interpreters for the ESC's special education classrooms in Delaware, Franklin and Union counties.

All substitutes must do the following:

• Complete employment application packet
  [including criminal background check and reference letter]
• Attend a substitute orientation
