Delaware Arts Academy

The Arts Academy is an alternative high school program that provides comprehensive services for high school students ages 14-17. The Arts Academy has a strong focus on electives in the arts and humanities. Classes are designed to support the unique needs of students by promoting inclusion opportunities and facilitating small group instruction that supports credit recovery in a non-traditional learning environment.

Students are supported by a team of highly qualified and licensed/certified professionals including a teacher, art instructor, paraprofessional and any related service professionals when deemed appropriate by the IEP team. Staff works collaboratively with families and district personnel to support the unique needs of the students.

Students enrolled in the Arts Academy typically have a medical condition that precludes a full-day schedule, do not function successfully in a traditional school setting, have grades well below projected levels, are frequently late or have excessive absences and/or have a history of family or personal problems or suspension/expulsion.
